On Sunday, July 16th, a crowd of 15,000 people gathered in St George’s Square for the final day of HERD, a large-scale sonic art project organized by composer Orlando Gough and produced by Artichoke, as part of Kirklees Year of Music 2023. Throughout the preceding week, thousands more experienced the project through musical sheep sculptures broadcasting soundscapes across Kirklees. My colleagues and I were tasked with capturing the finale, which involved interviewing organizers and capturing dynamic footage of the events. In editing the video, I included interviews with various organizers, interspersing footage of each member of the flock. Additionally, I added graphics that provided context to the events and name tags to each interviewee, ending the video with the musical finale.
